The Maryland veteran-owned small business procurement program establishes a 0.5% goal in contracts awarded to VOSBs.
Reach Independence Through Self Employment (RISE): Not Veteran-specific, but RISE is a program for all people with disabilities wanting to start their own businesses in Maryland. RISE helps develop business plans and explore funding options.
Maryland also has a number of financing programs for the business community. While not veteran specific, these programs help small businesses obtain financing.
Veteran-owned small business have 7% and service-connected disabled veteran-owned small businesses have an 8% preference in contracts with the University System of Maryland, the Department of General Services, and the Department of Transportation.
Maryland has one other benefit for Veteran-owned businesses: the Military Personnel and Veteran-owned small business no-interest loan program. This program is designed to help businesses in the following categories:

Small businesses owned by reservists or members of the National Guard called to active duty
 - 
Small Businesses that employ a military reservist or member of the Guard called to active duty
 - 
Veteran small business owner or veteran seeking to start a small business
 - 
Small businesses that employ service-disabled veterans.
 
Loans range from $1000 to $50,000 and mature from 1 to 8 years.
