Florida offers preference to Service-Disabled Veteran small businesses and wartime veteran small businesses through what is now called the “Florida Veteran Business Enterprise Opportunity Act.”

Business must have

  • 200 or fewer full time employees

  • Have a net worth of less than $5 million

  • Be organized to trade in commercial transactions

  • Be owned at least 51% by one or more service disabled veterans and be managed primarily by service disabled veterans (or the veterans must meet “wartime veteran” status as determined by the State of Florida)

Preference is given to Service-Disabled and Wartime Veteran Owned businesses over other Veteran owned businesses in bidding.
